Shine Like Stars

Shine like stars in the universe as we hold out the Word of life (Phil. 2:15)
We're not trying to be rock stars but just shed some light on a sad and lonely world. Stay tuned for how God works through weak and tired, sometimes really cranky vessels.

Hair Do Day

I tried doing Melia's hair again today and it looked much better this time. My camera (or my picture taking skill) didn't quite capture the cuteness that it was....

I need lots of practice on parting her hair.
But considering my model moves her head every
3 seconds parts are hard to get straight.
Here's Addie's do and her cry face....
and cuddling with Daddy.
So the girls' hair looked cute today but tonight
when I took it out, it was wild!
Addie's actually came out during nap so hers was
wild all evening.
Again, the photo doesn't capture the extent of Melia's crazy do.

Hair wasn't all we did today.
I also had many random conversations with Caleb:
"Mom, eggs are baby chickens right? I'm not eating eggs ever again."
I asked about chicken that we eat at dinner, if he'd still eat that.
He said, "Yeah, they're adult chickens right?"
I guess he figured that they'd lived a full life.

Then there was the c-section talk. I had a c-section with Caleb and another one with Addie. We haven't talked much about it so I'm not sure where this was coming from. I think when I came home from the hospital with Addie 2 and 1/2 years ago we said they had to be careful around my belly. Anyway...
He says: "Mom, why didn't you die when they cut your stomach open."
Yikes...this kids a thinker. He makes mental notes of everything and I never know when they're going to surface.

  1. A tip for straight parts.....use a doll's comb. Seriously we use a smallish type doll's comb which we have used for years now. It fits in your hand, but isn't tiny. Because it is more narrow than a regular comb it makes it easier. Of course moving heads......is hard no matter what- I am with you on that!

  2. I'm so intrigued. What kind of a doll comb? Maybe you should do a hair post on your blog, I'd love a full rundownn from a pro-mom like you!
